Construction Estimator
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects, evaluating project plans and specifications, and collaborating with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients. This role is critical in helping the company make informed decisions on bidding, budgeting, and project feasibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
- Develop and maintain detailed takeoffs and quantity surveys for materials, labor, and equipment.
- Obtain and analyze quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Participate in bid reviews and presentations to stakeholders.
- Track and maintain historical cost data to improve future estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients throughout pre-construction and construction phases.
- Identify and evaluate risks and opportunities during the estimating process.
- Assist with value engineering and cost-saving alternatives when appropriate.
- Maintain organized records of all estimating documentation and correspondence.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a construction estimator or similar role (typically 3+ years).
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
- Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst, PlanSwift, CostX, or similar).
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in commercial, residential, and/or industrial construction estimating.
- Familiarity with project management and scheduling software.
- Knowledge of local construction market conditions and subcontractor base.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
Assistant Quantity Surveyor
This is a full-time on-site role for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor located in Portchester. The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for tasks related to cost control, BOQ, cost management, cost planning, and cost reporting.
Qualifications
- Cost Control, Cost Management, and Cost Planning skills
- BOQ and Cost Reporting skills
- Relevant experience in quantity surveying or cost consultancy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field
Salary dependent on experience.
You must be able to drive.
Quantity Surveyor
This is a full-time on-site role for a Quantity Surveyor located in Portchester. The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for tasks such as cost control, BOQ preparation, cost management, cost planning, and cost reporting.
Qualifications
- Cost Control and Cost Management skills
- BOQ preparation and Cost Planning skills
- Cost Reporting skills
- Experience in Quantity Surveying or related field
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
- Professional certification or relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or related field
You must have a driving licence and you must have the relevent qualifications with in the sector
